Cory M. McDowell graduated from The University of New Mexico with a B.S. in Psychology in 2010. Mr. McDowell received his Juris Doctorate in 2015 from the University of New Mexico School of Law, Cum Laude.

During law school, Mr. McDowell received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Law School for his work helping to establish a program for students to observe Military Commission hearings in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as NGO Observers. He interned with the Second Judicial District Attorney's Office; clerked for Esquivel Law Firm, LLC, a local civil litigation firm; and volunteered with the Foundation for Open Government.

After his admission to the New Mexico State Bar in 2015, Mr. McDowell joined the District Attorney's Office as an Associate Trial Attorney in the Metropolitan Division. He joined Allen, Shepherd, Lewis & Syra, P.A. in December of 2015.
