Daniel W. Lewis

Mr. Lewis graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in French.

Mr. Lewis received his juris doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1991, graduating in the top 15% of his class. He was a member of the Law Review and received an award for Outstanding Articles Editor.

Mr. Lewis was admitted to the New Mexico State Bar in October 1991, at which time he joined Allen, Shepherd & Lewis, P.A. as an associate. In July 1997, he became a shareholder with the firm. His practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation; construction defects; defense of professionals, including attorneys, accountants, insurance agents and real estate professionals; personal injury defense, including premises liability, products liability, wrongful death and automobile accidents; and appeals. Mr. Lewis also serves as a mediator to assist litigants in resolving disputes.

Mr. Lewis was the founding President of the New Mexico Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and currently serves on the National Council of the Federal Bar Association. He is a member of the New Mexico Bar Association, the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He has served as a Master Bencher in the American Inns of Court. He is admitted to practice in all New Mexico State courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Lewis has an "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell.
