Mr. Dunlap was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest but has called New Mexico home for many years. Mr. Dunlap attended the University of New Mexico School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Dunlap was regularly listed on the Dean’s List and received the CALI Award for the academic excellence. Additionally, Mr. Dunlap served as a judicial clerk extern to the Honorable James O. Browning (U.S. District Court Judge), spent meaningful time working with the New Mexico State Legislature on statewide legal issues as a part of the Legislative Council Service, and was awarded the Wall Street Journal Award for Excellence in Corporation and Business Law by the law school faculty.

Mr. Dunlap has been associated with Allen, Shepherd & Lewis, P.A. for many years. Moreover, he spent years working as a senior attorney in the staff counsel organization of a large multi-national insurance company defending private organizations, public entities, and individuals against various forms of suit. Mr. Dunlap served (by appointment of the Governor of New Mexico) for a period of approximately two (2) years on the New Mexico Medical Board (a regulatory body created in the interest of public health across the State of New Mexico). Mr. Dunlap’s practice is concentrated primarily in the areas of personal injury, premises liability, construction defect, and workers compensation. Additionally, he has experience in the areas of medical malpractice defense and insurance coverage analysis.

In his free-time, Mr. Dunlap enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their four children. Additionally, Mr. Dunlap likes to participate in various of the numerous outdoor activities available in New Mexico (mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking). He has a hobby interest in the cello (having played since he was a child).
